Camarillo

Camarillo and Santa Rosa Valley are a step back in time to the ranching and equestrian roots of Ventura County. Nestled in the foothills, these adjacent communities are linked by farms and ranches that surround most of the neighborhoods. Bordered by the Las Posas Hills and Wildwood National Park, most homes view the farm and pastureland, the rugged hills, the Pacific Ocean, or all three.

The Santa Rosa Valley is a rural, equestrian area with a central valley that supports many farms and ranches. The valley properties are typically luxury equestrian and “gentleman ranch” homes with larger lots. Homes are typically between $1 million and $5 million. With trail systems that meander throughout the ranch properties, riders enjoy the rolling hills and citrus ranches reminiscent of the area’s rural lineage.

Camarillo is graced with ocean breezes, plentiful sunshine, mild winters, and cool evenings in the summer. Old Town Camarillo dates back to the turn of the 20th century with a small-town feel featuring coffee houses, restaurants, cafes, and shops. Nearby, the Camarillo Outlets feature over 50 retailers with dining and plentiful parking. Camarillo Ranch is a Queen Anne Victorian-style historical property that sponsors community events, tours, and is available for weddings. The Saturday Farmers Market is known for its abundance of local produce, honey, eggs, and cottage bakers. The Camarillo Airport is primarily for private use and features a WWII aviation museum. Close by is the recently developed Village at the Park, this master-planned community is home to a new YMCA and playing fields. Camarillo is also the home to the newest of the California State University System, California State University Channel Islands.
